Child Safety

Home

Peak Prep is designed for children aged 8–11 preparing for transfer tests. Child safety is built into how the platform works, not added on as an afterthought.

Parent-owned by design

Every child profile belongs to a parent account. Parents create the profile, choose the display name, approve profile photos, set the PIN, and control what the child can do. Children cannot create their own accounts or access billing, settings, or parent contact details.

A child's student login code is generated and held by the parent. The child uses that code to access their own profile — nothing more.

No social features

Peak Prep has no messaging, no user-generated public content, and no child-to-child interaction. Children only see their own practice results, challenges, and rewards. There is no feed, comments section, or community space.

Positive, age-appropriate student experience

The student mode is focused on encouragement. Children see their progress, earn points, and get positive feedback. Detailed weakness analysis is shown in the parent dashboard, not the student view. We do not show children failure messages or score league tables.

Study buddies and reward themes are chosen by the child from a fixed set of options. There are no in-app purchases, advertising, or external links accessible from the student mode.

Names and profile images

Display names and nicknames are checked against a blocklist of inappropriate terms at the point of entry. Profile photos for children are uploaded by the parent and are not visible to other families.

Image uploads are validated for file type and size before they are stored. Images are only stored against the profile that uploaded them and are not shared or publicly accessible.

AI-generated content

Some features use an AI language model to generate personalised feedback on written answers and to suggest practice question ladders. Prompts to the AI do not include a child's name or any identifying information — only the question, the child's answer, and the curriculum context.

AI-generated responses are returned to the parent or child's screen and are not shared beyond the session. We review prompt design to minimise the risk of inappropriate outputs.

Content standards

Practice questions and comprehension passages are written or reviewed by the Peak Prep team. Comprehension materials use original content, public-domain texts, or content specifically created for the platform. We do not reproduce protected past papers.

Topics and themes are appropriate for the 8–11 age group. We do not include content involving violence, adult themes, or controversial political topics.

Data and privacy

Child profiles are protected under our Privacy Notice. We do not sell child data. Subscription and billing information is held on the parent account only. Children have no visibility of personal or financial information.

See our Privacy Notice for full details on data collection, retention, and your rights.
